Role Summary/Purpose: The JAVA / J2EE developer will be a key member of the Solution Center responsible for developing s/w products and providing enhancements for applications spanning across GE Transportation Commercial product space and for leading contract teams as required. The role offers immense opportunities to adapt to latest technologies to stay current with GE s/w and industry trends. This role requires working in an Agile team delivering in an iterative and incremental fashion and with global stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities:
: Translate requirements into design and develop robust solutions using state:of:art tools and methodologies.
: Ensures developed solutions are in compliance with specifications.
: Generate and execute unit and integrated test cases to ensure software quality.
: Apply coding best practices and industry standards.: Contributes in all phases of the development cycles.
: Implement appropriate design patterns and efficient SQL queries.
: Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems.
: Investigate and innovate with new technologies and methodologies.
: Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to ensure product success.
: Stay abreast with the latest technology trends, coding standards, libraries, and frameworks.
Qualifications/Requirements:
: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or technical field.
: Minimum 4 years of experience with Java/ J2EE technologies.
: Minimum 3 years experience with object oriented design, data modeling, and analysis methodologies.
: Minimum 3 years object:oriented programming and design experience, in Java/J2EE.
: Minimum 3 years hands:on experience programming in Spring Framework, Hibernate ORM.
: Minimum 3 years experience with JUnits.
: Minimum 2 years experience in JMS.
: 2+ years of experience with Web Services technologies (REST / SOAP).
: Working experience of JSON.
: Hands:on experience working on UNIX / LINUX servers.
: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
