Role Summary/Purpose:
Have you made a name for yourself unifying many disparate web services into amazing web applications? If so, GE's Software Center of Excellence is looking for talented web application developers like you to join their team. If you enjoy building amazing customer experiences and like to make difficult things look easy this is the opportunity for you.
Essential Responsibilities:
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will work across the full stack in close collaboration with Software Developers and System Engineers to build and shape GE's big data analytics platform for Healthcare solutions.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:
- Act as a member of the Software Center of Excellence, representing the face of high quality design and development practices
- Develop large high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end distributed web applications
- Join a high-performing Agile team adept in the ways of SCRUM, XP, and TDD (dedicated Agile coach included)
- Collaborate with system engineers, front-end developers, UX designers, business analysts, and software developers to implement solutions that align and extend shared platforms and solutions
Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years professional experience developing Java software and/or web applications
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work out of an office located in Bangalore, India
- Ability and willingness to travel, as required
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated expertise developing multi-threaded Core Java applications
- Demonstrated proficiency with JMS and other enterprise messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Camel, EIP, AMQP, MQTT)
- Experience with Big Data analytics (NoSQL, Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, HBase, MapReduce, Mahout)
- Full Stack development experience
- Experience developing web applications (Spring, MVC, Play framework, RESTful, SOAP, Jersey, RestEasy, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, Web Services)
- Experience with database tools ( JPA, Hibernate, JDBC )
- Experience with front-end technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS, BackboneJS, EmberJS, jQuery, KnockoutJS
- Experience with rules engines (Camel, Drools, Quartz, JRules)
- Experience with modern tooling (Gradle, Maven, Git, SVN)
- Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment (Scrum, XP, TDD)
