Role Summary/Purpose:
This position is for MS Team Manager (both commercial and NPI engines) in LPT/MS Module for Product Engineering Center at Bangalore. Responsibilities include: program execution, resource management, business connectivity, and nurturing the technical and professional growth of the team.
Essential Responsibilities:
The broad responsibilities include
- Provide leadership and technical direction to the team for specific programs / projects to meet objectives in a cross functional environment.
- Partner with Engineering Manager and global stakeholders in building and preparing the team for next-level business challenges.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members as necessary.
- Ensure project execution as per agreed plan with FTY=1 on budget and schedule for NPIs, Field & Manufacturing Support , Cost/Weight reduction programs & Hardware/Design ownership programs.
- Own HR Processes (Gs&Os, Mid-Year discussion, EMS) for your team and facilitate career growth through coaching and career guidance.
- Partner with Engineering Manager/Section Manager for Session C, T, and II processes.
- Remain cognizant of state-of-the-art technologies in the relevant technical domain and promote the application of same in the team.
- Prepare and equip team for presentation in technical / leadership forums like Design Boards, Toll gate reviews etc.
- Drive a compliance and quality culture within the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BE/Master's/PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering.
- 8+ years of working experience in the area of structural/thermal/CFD analysis of turbo machinery static, rotating components, bearings, seals, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design/analysis teams.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Extensive experience with GE Aviation Gas turbine mechanical design or related product line.
- Green belt certified (GE employees only).

- Known problem solver in structural/CFD analysis.
- Prior experience in leading engineering teams or programs
- Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt certification.
