Role Summary/Purpose:
This role leads the Bangalore Aviation Engineering's PIC (Externals) team. The role demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This role integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization, and is involved in long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas, area of expertise in Bangalore.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the Engineering team including operation, strategy, hiring, Program execution, development needs and resource planning.
- Identify Gaps and grow the technical competency of the team by growing technical talent in the team. Responsible for grooming technical & leadership pipeline.
- Collaborate with all global stakeholders and be responsible for all the key operational and functional metrics of the section.
- Provide overall all leadership to ensure effective execution of all the engineering projects/ programs from the Bangalore team.
- Plan / develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer outcome & productivity, interface with cross-functional departments as needed.
- Establish and maintain an effective and economical administrative system in the Engineering Department
- Implement a system to authorize, provide and control technical information, instructions and advise all personnel
- Responsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs
- Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) relating to the team
Qualifications/Requirements:
-B.Tech/BS degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
-At least 5 additional years of experience in an Engineering Leader role
-Possesses & demonstrate passion towards engineering excellence.
-Experience delivering complex engineering projects & understanding of engineering design release system is preferred
-Strong on GE growth values and beliefs.
-Global engineering mindset demonstrated through experience working with local & global teams.

-M.Tech/MS degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college-At Least 10 years of strong Engineering and Leadership experience-Ability to deliver business results in uncertain environment.-Strong interpersonal skills, change management skills, organization skills & problem solving abilities-Understanding of the aviation Industry is preferred-Strong customer mindset-Six Sigma training is preferred, Knowledge of working within a Quality environment (Particularly ISO 9001)-Strong oral and written communication skills
