Cisco is currently seeking talented Mechanical Product Engineers.
Mechanical Product Engineer:
• The position will be senior engineer who has significant impact on the business. He or she poses good program management skills and communication skills. Has the ability to work independently.
• Responsible for supporting and managing technical challenges with Manufacturing Partners (MPa).
• She/He will support products that are manufactured out of the MPas, will work closely with local engineering team and also MPE peers.
• Leadership of analysis and input of design for manufacturability, fulfillment, and Design Margin analysis / Robustness
The requirements of the position will be to assist and/or lead in the following areas (and others as needed):
• Product early engagement
• Value Engineering
• Address Line stops/Purges/Quality Issues
• Support internal/external quality/system Audits
• ECO and Deviation Creation and Approval
• Manage BOM
• Review quotes and provide input and Context Work
• Assessment of MPa Technical Capabilities
• Factory Readiness for NPI Builds
• NPI Build Monitoring and Feedback
• DFM Input
• First Article Inspection Approval
• Standard Operating Procedures (Manufacturing Assembly Instructions) Review and Approval
• Improvement Activities (process, product and cost)
Education:
• Holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with more than 12 years’ experience in the high tech industry
Skills:
• Expertise in Sheet-metal fabrication process, stamping tooling. Experience in plastic, die-casting part design and manufacturing.
• Experienced and proficient with CAD applications such as Pro-E { basic level of support to query models for dimensional checks, drawing note updates, tolerance note adjustments, interference checks, ability to work with Intralink}
• BOM experience, Agile PDM system
• Process and quality oriented.
• Experience with designing/improving manufacturing processes
• Mechanical design experience is a plus
• Six Sigma training, industrial/commercial/consumer product design experiences are a plus
• Good inter personal skills.
• Details-oriented, risk taking abilities
• Good analytic skill
• Good presentation skill
• Strong verbal and written English skills
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
• Effective people /interpersonal skills to work with engineering and manufacturing team members in a collaborative environment - Global collaboration experience.
• Efficient organization and multi-tasking skills to manage various projects simultaneously.
• Design FMEA; Mfg (Process) FMEA
• DFx: DFC, DFQ, DFM, DFR, DFSC, DFT
• Cost avoidance, cost reduction and value engineering
• Design lab experimentation / debug / DOE / EFA
• Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability (strengths and gaps)
• Knowledge and application of industry innovations / trends and application to product or program
• Ownership of Product Technical Documentation (ECO, BOMs, Assy documents, CTF dimensions, TOIs, Part numbers)
